Course Update

September 2 2025

Weather & Course Update

It has been refreshing to have some sunshine in the last week. Our golf course has many areas that are noticeably starting to dry out. To this point, we were able to cut all fairways last week (except for the flooded holes), which has been well received! However, many areas remain flooded and damaged. In the coming weeks, we are hopeful of opening the 3rd and 6th greens and the 7th tee, allowing us to play the Banksia course at its full length.

Following this, our goal is to have 27 holes accessible as soon as possible; however, until the water subsides and the flooded areas become accessible, we do not have a specific timeframe.

Priorities for the flooded areas are to continue pumping water across the course. Members who have recently played  have been able to see the drainage trench dug across the course, moving water into the dams on the 13th and 14th holes.

Drainage Plans

At our July Board Meeting, a sub-soil drainage plan with a number of pits and access points was approved by our Board. Incidentally, this plan is almost in the same area as the trench dug across the course now.

Last week, our surveyor confirmed levels and datum points, ensuring the correct levels are achieved. When the weather and ground conditions allow, we will commence work here.

The image included is a plan of the works that will go ahead.

Members Working Bees

We are reaching out to all members who can assist in returning our course to its normal state. We have large amounts of debris scattered across the flooded areas. Unfortunately, we will not be able to cut any roughs until all the trees, sticks and branches are collected.

If any members can assist either our Monday or Tuesday volunteer groups, your help would be appreciated!

Dangerous Trees

Due to the wet weather, gale-force winds and saturated ground areas, we are continuing to identify several unsafe trees that have either been uprooted or are dying due to prolonged periods underwater. Tree loppers and staff will continue focusing on removing these, especially around tees and high-use areas. We anticipate that this will be an ongoing task for several months.

Thank You from the Golf Operations Team

The Golf Operations staff would like to extend our sincere thanks to all members for your patience and understanding as we've navigated the ever-changing course conditions over the past few months. Your continued support, especially during this unpredictable rainy season, has been greatly appreciated.

We recognise that last-minute updates and emails from the Golf Shop have, at times, required quick adjustments, and we appreciate your flexibility. A special thank you goes out to the member playing group organisers, who have done an outstanding job communicating updates and keeping their groups informed.

We want your feedback!

We'd love your feedback on promotions and entertainment at the Club.

Your feedback helps us create the best experiences possible for our members. This survey will only take a few minutes to complete.

All members who complete the survey will go into a draw to win $50 worth of raffle tickets. Please ensure to add your email address so we can contact you if you're the winner.

The winner will be drawn on Friday, 12 September.
